The venerable riding sail

The tendency of sailboats to drift at anchor during sudden changes in wind direction can be remedied by using a small, inexpensive riding sail when using a second anchor is not feasible. Detailed diagrams and instructions on installation are given.

I think good anchoring is one of the most important and least practiced aspects of good seamanship
