Time course of neuromuscular alterations during a prolonged running exercise

Article Abstract:

The time course of contractile and neural alterations of knee extensor (KE) muscles during a long duration running exercise is investigated. The finding suggests that central activation failure and alterations in muscle action potential transmission are important mechanisms contributing to the impairment of the neutomuscular function during prolonged running.

Comparison of activity monitors to estimate energy cost of treadmill exercise

Article Abstract:

The efficacies of five physical activity monitors available for research are assessed. The results suggest that there was no significant difference in the average energy expenditure recorded by any of the activity monitors.

Validity of a multi-sensot armband in estimating rest an exercise energy expenditure

Article Abstract:

The validity and reliability of the SWA during exercise and rest compared with indirect calorimetry (IC) was examined. Results reveal that the SWA underestimated inclined walking EE and overestimated EE of flat walking.
