Training enhances ANP lipid-mobilizing action in adipose tissue of overweight men

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to evaluate whether a 4-month endurance training program could improve atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and isoproterenol-mediated in situ lipolysis and adipose tissue blood flow in the subcutaneous adipose tissue (SCAT) of untrained overweight subjects. It is revealed that endurance training improves ANP- and beta-adrenergic-receptor-mediated lipid mobilization and ANP-stimulated adipose tissue blood flow in the SCAT of overweight subjects.

Physical activity in the prevention of obesity: current evidence and research issues

Article Abstract:

This review presents epidemiologic data to demonstrate that habitual physical activity attenuates age-related weight gain more than promoting weight loss. Engaging more in physical activity is an effective method for maintaining a constant body weight with increasing age.
