Cycle World magazine sought to determine which the ultimate sportbike is through a five-day ride on the street, racetrack and the dragstrip. Contenders were the Ducati 916, Honda's CBR900RR, Kawasaki's ZX-7R, Suzuki's GSX-R750 and Yamaha's YZF750R, with Suzuki outperforming the others.
