Effects of an external nasal dilator on the work of breathing during exercise

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates the effects of nasal dilator strips on breathing efficiency in college students during an exhaustive ergometer test. Findings indicate that nasal dilator strips do not influence oxygen uptake, tidal volume, or ventilation during incremental, aerobic exercise.

Physiological responses to upper body exercise on an arm and a modified leg ergometer

Article Abstract:

Research comparing the effects of exercise with an ergometer on upper bodies to legs is presented. The greater response of arms than legs to such exercise measured by metabolic and cardiorespiratory criteria is discussed.
