Youth recall and tritrac accelerometer estimates of physical activity levels

Article Abstract:

A study to examine the significance of missing data and describe physical activity patterns using data derived from TriTrac-R3D activity monitors (TTM) and youth self reports among a population of middle-school youth in a nonlaboratory setting is presented. Results of the experiment show that missing TTM data did not bias estimates of activity levels whereas self-reported activity measures overestimated moderate and vigorous activity relative to the TTM and varied by sex.
