Engine launch follows sales success

Article Abstract:

Krupp MaK Scandinavia A/S has introduced a new marine engine following a 30% increase in company sales in 1995. The new engine, called the M25, has 40% less components than the company's other engine models and features a crankcase made of nodular cast iron for added rigidity. It is designed for a high injection pressure of around 1,600 bar to make the delivery characteristics of the cam consistent in the injection. The M25 does not use cooling water, eliminating the possibility of corrosion.
