Crude moves: Gusher or dry hole?

Article Abstract:

The resurgence in oil prices has brought back investors' interest in the shares of Canadian energy companies. Energy shares have gained by 9.8% on the Toronto Stock Exchange in the week ending Mar 12, 1999, while oil and gas stocks have shot up by 18.9% in the two-week trading sessions in Mar 1999. Investors can protect themselves from market volatility by limiting their options to integrated oil and gas companies, energy mutual funds, income trusts, and companies that are actually producing oil and gas.
