Nor-Shipping gets bigger and busier

Article Abstract:

Nor-Shipping '97 is an international shipbuilding industry trade conference that will host 1,200 companies. The event will be held from June 10, 1997 to June 13, 1997 and an estimated 12,000 visitors from 70 countries are expected to attend. The trade show is entitled 'Towards the Millenium' and will feature various companies manufacturing everything from safety to communications equipment displaying their wares.

The creation of computer integrated manufacture (CIM) promises to revolutionize shipbuilding process. The system increases the participation of computer system in the creation of ships since it is involved not only in the production of drawings but also in the entire process of shipbuilding. CIM is seen to take charge in the aspects of order placement, delivery and production costs calculation.
