Personality characteristics and traffic accidents of college students

Article Abstract:

No relationship exists between the three personality characteristics of risk-seeking, chronic self-destructiveness and self-esteem, and traffic accidents and citations. This was found in an examination of three personality variables of workers as potential correlates of accidents. There was no relationship between self-esteem and actual accidents. No significant relationships between accidents and risk-seeking and chronic self-destructiveness were found either. However, there was quite a significant relationship between chronic self-destructiveness and citations.
