Sea Spider is a multi-purpose, technologically advanced, diesel electric cable-laying vessel which has been put into use for the first time in the Baltic. The state-of-the-art ship will play a key role in a power cable laying project called SwePol. The ship not only has a large cable-carrying capacity and excellent sea-keeping capabilities, it can also can also continue to work in adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, it can work in difficult areas such as shallow waters, tidal waters and estuaries.
