Two by two looks good

Article Abstract:

Alstom Turbochargers intends to sell 2,000 of its turbo-chargers by the year 2000 and establish itself as the world's biggest independent supplier of the marine diesel engine equipment. The company has proven that it is an aggressive competitor in an industry that has been the traditional domain of ABB. Alstom hopes to realize its goal for the next millennium with the introduction of the 8 series line of turbo-chargers. These include the 458 model and the larger 558 variant.

Twin camshafts give greater flexibility

Article Abstract:

German-based engine builder MAN B&W has developed an engine which will meet the new environmental standards which aim at reducing pollutants from ships 30% by 2000. The company has designed the engine for ammonia injection, exhaust gas recirculation, and fuel/water emulsion. The engine is also equipped with two camshafts to allow better injection timing, an improvement which will reduce fuel consumption. Expectations are high, and the first orders have already been placed.

Let it B the one

Article Abstract:

ABB has launched a modified version of its TPL-designed turbochargers. Dubbed as TPL..B, this innovative turbo-charger has been designed to suit the needs of larger bore two-stroke engines. The most interesting feature of the product is an external lube oil safety backup system that ensures the safety of the safe run-out. The system is most functional during blackouts since it maintains the consistency of the oil lubrication process.
