The latest development in the Washington (D.C.) Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is a robot developed by Remotec in Oak Ridge. Costing $ 150,000 the machine can inspect a suspicious device from a very safe distance. It has multiple cameras, and can operate on difficult terrains and is narrow enough to travel down the train or bus aisles.
