Former pop singer and manager Chas Chandler has been a driving force behind the development of the 10 million pounds sterling Newcastle Arena. This has 10,000 seats, and can therefore be used for very large shows. It is 130 mt and 70 mt wide, and is designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used for sports, and is already home to the Newcastle Warriors ice hockey team and the Newcastle Comets basketball team.
