Board recommends rejecting A, B, C rating system

Article Abstract:

The Toronto Board of Health rejected the A, B, C grading system for restaurants in Toronto, Ontario, and instead proposed 'a pass/fail system with full disclosure.' The board, voting 9 to 3 for the pass/fail system, sided with restaurateurs who vigorously opposed the A, B, C grading system. The system proposed by the board could provide consumers with information about the food safety condition of a restaurant through various methods, such as the Internet.
