Bob Masterson

Article Abstract:

Bob Masterson is president of Ripley Entertainment which targets the mid-sized attractions market. It has 39 attractions in 12 countries and its new Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach in the US, has recently won a THEA Award. Masterson believes that site selection is the key to success, and the reason the company began to franchise some of its attractions. The company believes there are many markets available to them with the smaller attraction, with concepts implemented for less capital.

Operating theatres: Now simulation companies are creating the right products, operators are on a steep learning curve

Article Abstract:

The simulation industry has undergone a transition, with established companies rationalizing operations and refocusing products and services. There is still room for major simulation attractions, including the IMAX(R) 3D attraction Race for Atlantis, and the Klingon attack incorporating McFadden technology. Simulation is being accepted as a viable entertainment medium and it is being used at science centres, museums, and even restaurants.
