Caffeine highs

Article Abstract:

The Canadian market for caffeinated drinks starts to perk up with the production of the first Health Canada approved caffeinated spring water. Other companies have followed suit but production is being done in the United States. Marketing of caffeinated drinks in Canada requires approval by Health Canada. Health Canada bans the addition of caffeine to any drink but dark colas. Caffeinated drinks are said to have energizing and exhilirating effects. Caffeine stimulates the nervous system and fuels the body thus enhancing and maintaining peak performance of the drinker.

To serve and protect

Article Abstract:

Restaurant operators should choose the right security system from the many equipment currently available in the market. The choice of security equipment should be based on the restaurant's specific needs and on the operator's budget. The cost of a basic security system ranges from C$500- C$1,000, while a high-end system starts at C$20,000. In addition to a reliable security system, operators should also consider all the existing structures and employees for a more 'holistic' approach to security.

Pesky pests

Article Abstract:

Restaurant and foodservice operators across Canada have practical reasons to be vigilant about pest control. These reasons include retaining the business of patrons, disease prevention and the prevention of structural property damage. It is important to remember that a restaurant's staff is always its first line of defense in the battle against bugs and insects, especially in the kitchen, bar area, garbage-and-recycling bin area and kitchen back entrances.
