Congress centre is a big draw

Article Abstract:

The number of visitors to Atlanta, GA, grew by one million to 19 million in 1996 from 1995, with the number of visitors expected to reach record levels in 1997. The Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta is a major convention venue, with visitors numbering over one million in 1995-96. Over 57 major conventions were held in Atlanta in the year after the city hosted the 1996 Olympic Games. The Atlanta Convention and Visitors' Bureau is keen to utilise the international exposure received from the Olympics. Hotel occupancy rates in Atlanta are expected to remain stable at 70% in 1997 from 70.19% in 1996 and 72.9% in 1995.

Business first but sights abound

Article Abstract:

The capital of the Republic of Korea, Seoul, has recently been promoted in the Visit Korea Year '94 promotion. The city is currently mainly visited by business travellers. Attractions include the Namdaemun Gate, Namdaemun Market, Tongdaemun, Ch'anggyonggung Palace and its 30-hectare Secret Garden, the Olympic Park, and the National Museum of Korea. Other attractions include park and garden areas.

Malaysia has a wide range of cultural and natural attractions, and its tropical climate also appeals to tourists. Attractions include Pahang, the largest state in peninsular Malaysia, the mountainous rain forest region of Sabah, the historical port of Malacca and the island of Pangkor.
