Finding your vocation

Article Abstract:

A study of the development of national vocational qualifications (NVQs) in the leisure industry has revealed limited uptake. About 70 companies contributed to the survey. Forty-one per cent considered NVQs expensive and inferior to established training programmes. However, 31% have introduced pilot programmes and 24% were planning implementation. The survey demonstrated that the National Training targets are unlikely to be achieved by 1996.
