Article Abstract:

Phase One of the Earth Centre, near Doncaster, is to open on July 8 1995. The Centre boasts an Aquatic Ecology Centre, introductory exhibitions, visitor centre, Victorian walled garden, and areas of reclaimed land. By the end of 1999, the Centre is also expected to feature a Sustainable Futures Centre, Sustainable Science and Industry Gallery, the Ark, and various other facilities such as hotel, conference centre, restaurant, and transport system.

It is very important that visitors to Hampton Court appreciate the palace's historical importance, according to business development manager Donna Gelardi. However, it is also important to exploit marketing opportunities, especially as the palace is extremely expensive to run. No venture at Hampton Court can be too blatently commercial, and it is vital to respect the palace's historical nature.

Michael Holland

Article Abstract:

No Ordinary Hotels is a very unconventional hotel company, even though its chief executive, Michael Holland, has extensive experience in more traditional areas of the hotel industry. The company now has two themed hotels, where it aims to create a unique visitor experience. At Coombe Abbey, for example, the staff wear historical costume, and the building is based on a restored abbey.
