Future imperfect

Article Abstract:

Segaworld in London's Trocadero Centre is attracting many visitors, and this can mean lengthy queues at the entrance. Initially, Segaworld does not seem very frightening, but this changes when the floor becomes uneven. Some of the rides are rather dull, and it may be necessary to queue again to experience them. A large part of the floorspace is devoted to slot machines, which means that visitors are paying a large amount of money simply to spend more money.

Got a light

Article Abstract:

Lighting consultants can help buildings such as leisure centres with their knowledge of lighting gained from work in theatres and to create effect using technical engineering. The use of fibre optics as a source of lighting, originally used for environments where conservation had to be taken into account, exemplifies this. In Bracknell, UK, Coral Reef swimming pool, illustrates how lighting and water can be used together to create effect.

All rolled into one

Article Abstract:

Ten pin bowling alley operators are offering a wider range of facilities to attract different customers. Some companies have installed amusements, bars, catering facilities, children's play areas, Lazer Quest and Crystal Maze games to attract families and business groups to offset diminishing numbers of 15 to 34-year-olds. Research shows that visitors prefer to spend less on ten-pin bowling in preference to other facilities.
