ITI audit

Article Abstract:

Indoor Tennis Initiative centres in the UK began to be set up in 1988, and their future looks optimistic, with 27 such centres already in operation after five years. Consumer response has been satisfactory, with people of all ages, people with disabilities, and schools using these centres. Although these centres tend not to make a profit, they receive a lot of use, and this is a good argument for building more facilities. A pointer for further action is to encourage use of these centres by people in lower income brackets.

All change in France

Article Abstract:

State funding for sports, leisure and cultural pursuits in France is likely to be affected by budgetary constraints, following a change in government, affecting some museums, and the Grand Stade sports stadium project outside Paris. Large projects are most under threat, as funds have to be spread more thinly. Meanwhile, the hotel and catering trade is seeking to ease the burden of bureaucratic obligations, a move which the industry feels will create jobs and boost investment.
