Neil Cossons

Article Abstract:

A museum which refuses to make an admission charge may unfortunately see its standards decline dramatically, according to Sir Neil Cossons, director of the National Museum of Science and Industry. He has gained a reputation for being one of the UK's most innovative museum directors, and was one of the pioneers of museum admission charges. He is particularly aware of the need to provide facilities which constantly boost a museum's competitiveness, and has worked very hard to attract funds from industry for this purpose.
