New qualifications

Article Abstract:

A new project-based leisure management qualification has replaced the examination-based ILAM course for 1992. Qualifications on four levels are available according to experience. The ILAM First Award is directed at those with little or no leisure industry knowledge. The ILAM Certificate in Leisure Operations is designed for those with some experience and understanding. Candidates with management skills can take the ILAM Certificate in Leisure Management. The ILAM Diploma in Leisure Management is available at senior management level.

Article Abstract:

Seven students from the Hotel Management School, Leeuwarden, Netherlands have been engaged in work placements at EuroDisneyland, France since September, 1991. Placements have been in attractions, management and catering. Students have been responsible for equipment testing and training new employees. Work has involved compiling specifications and reports, devising training programmes, liaising between management and workforce and acting as guides.
