On course at Club Med to move out of the red

Article Abstract:

It is important to proceed with caution when restructuring, tackling only one or two markets at a time, according to Club Mediterranee Chmn Philippe Bourguignon. The company has already divested four villages, and will probably dispose of a further three in Europe. Bourguignon focused initially on France, which accounts for 28% of Club Mediterranee's sales, when implementing the company's new strategy, and then turned to North America and Germany. He will also look at Japan and the UK. Negotiations are currently underway with five potential partners in North America.
