One potato, two potato..

Article Abstract:

World's largest french fry producer and privately-owned enterprise McCain Foods Ltd, Canada, has opened a new potato processing plant in Coaldale, Alberta, that will formally open in Sep 2000. The $93.9-million, 190,000 sq-ft facility includes an 11,100 sq-ft office complex which houses office space and an employee lunch area. It will manufacture roughly 200 million lbs of potato products per year for domestic and export distribution.

Priszm buys AOC

Article Abstract:

Priszm brandz inc, owner and operator of 650 Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell outlets in Canada, has purchased food distribution company, AmeriServe of Canada. AmeriServe is a whollly-owned subsidiary of Dallas, TX-based AmeriServe Food Distribution Inc, and manages order- taking, finance, customer service and distribution functions for 270 restaurants in Ontario, including 50 priszm restaurants.

Full steam ahead

Article Abstract:

Steam Whistle Brewing Co will soon be housed at the neglected railway roundhouse located next to CN Tower in Toronto, Canada. The historic structure, previously a Canadian Pacific train service building, has been occupied since the late 1980s. The brewing company will build a 4,000-sq- ft brew pub restaurant, a retail shop, exhibit area, hospitality space and a microbrewery at the railway roundhouse.
