Article Abstract:

Foodservice operators should come up with a more innovative way to package their foods in order to compete with home meal replacement (HMR) or convenient meal solutions (CMS) offerings. Instead of using typical aluminum containers with paper lids, products could be packaged in such materials as high-impact plastics with clear plastic lids, styrofoam clamshells and poly-coated paperboard with vivid patterns.
