Perfect hearing

Article Abstract:

Leisure operators looking for a sound system can select from a range of products to find the one which best suits their venue and budget. The Churchill Intercontinental Hotel, London, England, chose BOSE equipment for its conference and banqueting facilities. The Babe Ruth themed restaurant, London, devoted a large part of its budget to purchasing an integrated audio visual system which was installed by Marquee Audio. Matrix Audio Developments has developed amplifiers which can cope with smoky atmospheres. Denon can supply monthly changes of music programmes for its Rolec Hard Disc System.

Hearing things

Article Abstract:

New technology has enabled sound systems to be developed so that alarms and music or public address systems can be used at the same time, being heard by those in any part of a building as required, which is particularly useful for leisure centres. Loudspeaker systems have been developed for various sectors, such as underwater systems for swimming pools. The turning point was when electronics allowed the equipment and cables to be monitored by a high frequency tone which could not be heard by humans.
