Peru

Article Abstract:

The tourist industry in Peru has benefitted from recent political and economical reforms, following many years of decline and stagnation. Tourist arrivals have risen rapidly since 1992, with an average annual growth rate of 31%. Tourist arrivals are split evenly between elsewhere in South America, from Europe and from North America. The Peruvian government is backing the tourist industry with a number of financial incentives. It is hoped that tourist arrivals will reach around 1 million a year by the end of the decade.

The Netherlands

Article Abstract:

The Netherlands is a popular tourist destination because of its secure economic and political climate. Additionally, its easy accessability and the popularity of Amsterdam as a tourist city has boosted international tourist numbers. The growth of the Netherlands as a key international conference centre has also enhanced its attractiveness as a visitor destination. It is expected that the Netherlands will continue to gain a larger market share of world tourism.
