Strength in numbers

Article Abstract:

Cutting back on staff is not the best option for hospitality and leisure companies that are facing difficult economic conditions. Instead, companies should focus on motivating their front-line employees and boosting performance. Staff cutbacks can hurt employee moral and reduce levels of service, but employees who are encouraged and motivated will provide better customer service and help to create loyal customers.

When tipping culture is corrupted

Article Abstract:

The pros and cons of a service tax policy in place of tipping in the Hospitality industry are examined. In addition, the practices of some establishments are discussed, which request a gratuity payment in addition to service tax encourages the customer to pay twice.
