Article Abstract:

Lifetimes, an exhibition at the Croydon Clocktower, Croydon, UK, won the award for the best entry in the 1995 Interpret Britain awards for UK heritage projects. The exhibition, based on real people, showed the development of Croydon. Other award winners were '1645 - the Decisive Campaign', led by Leicestershire County Council, encompassing 120 events, A Shift in Time, an underground tour, at Rhonda Heritage Park, Cogges Manor Farm Museum, Made in Gateshead, The Seaham Project, which is a north east tourist project, and the Pilchard works, Tolcarne, Cornwall.

Door ajar as Tehran courts West. Iran's hardline stance is softening as it looks to renew ties with the international community and paints over the anti-western rhetoric

Iran is seeking to renew its links with the international community and European tour operators are adding the Islamic Republic to their tour programmes. Carriers flying to Tehran include British Airways, Austrian Airlines, KLM and Lufthansa. The country's attraction is in its lavish architectural and cultural heritage, but it has an under-developed infrastructure and a restrictive social code.
