Article Abstract:

Dr. Howard Boltansky, chief of Allergy and immunology Section of Sibley Hospital, Washington DC, considers allergies and asthma to be the most prevalent chronic diseases that are largely determined by genes. Allergies can be treated effectively by prevention, medication such as nasal-spray steroids and allergy shots, and immunotherapy, while asthma treatment involves the use of inhaled spray steroids and medication such as Singulair and Accolate.
