Bullets at Northwestern: why did a former research aide shoot a renowned NU faculty member, then kill himself?

Article Abstract:

Northwestern University Otolaryngology researcher Mario Ruggero was shot on Mar 9, 1995, by his former research assistant, John Costalupes. Costalupes had been fired in the late 1980s for insubordination, and he blamed his subsequent inability to find a job on Ruggero. Ruggero survived the attack.
