Article Abstract:

Organizers of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race are promoting the importance of immunization through the competitive event which commemorates the historical transportation of diphtheria serum to Nome, Alaska, in 1925. Efforts are being made to woo back the Natives, who were the first to use sled dogs, into the race.

A needling question: to use of not to use acupuncture on sled dogs?

Article Abstract:

The use of acupuncture in treating sled dogs is discussed. The ancient Chinese procedure, which uses needles instead of pills, is considered by Western medical practitioners as unproven in curing illnesses in humans as well as animals.
