If it looks like a duck and floats like a duck, it may be a million-dollar decoy

Article Abstract:

A duck, carved out of a block of cedar or tupelo to lure real waterfowl within shotgun range, lure collectors willing to pay big money. The wooden ducks, made in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, have transformed from a hunting aid to folk art to a treasured collectible.

Public officials who give sensible responses to letters from their constituents have become a rare breed. The lost art of corresponding is also evident in the private sector, with very few company officials taking time out to answer their mail from consumers.
