Bombay, the commercial city in India, is described with reference to the rising population and the pollution by comparing it with Singapore. While the most populated city in Europe, Berlin has a population of 1,130 people per square, Bombay showed a record of 17,550 people per square as per to the 1990 census.

The threats to the Taj

Efforts to preserve India's Taj Mahal are being made. The country's Supreme Court ordered the closure and relocation of nearby factories because of the air pollutants they emit, causing the mausoleum's corrosion. However, the jobs at stake sparked protests from the labor sector.
