Is administrative-license revocation effective?

Article Abstract:

Studies show that administrative-license revocation (ALR) laws have effectively reduced alcohol-related car accidents and fatalities. ALR refers to either the revocation or suspension of a driver's license prior to conviction for an alcohol-related offense. Results of various studies indicate a 5% to 14% reduction in alcohol-related crashes among the various states that adopted ALR regulations.
