Renewal hangs on fragile truce

Article Abstract:

Albanian academic representatives, but no Serbs, met with the Assn. of European Universities and other international organisations in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, at the end of Jul. 1999 for talks on reconstructing the University of Pristina. The university's commission for reconstruction estimates that around 3 million pounds sterling of emergency funding will be needed for structural and equipment repair. Money will be released once the draft agreement on the transitional arrangements for the management of the university has been signed and the university's legal status resolved.
