Upfront: Actress Gabrielle Union reveals how she survived a brutal rape at age nineteen

Article Abstract:

Actress Gabrielle Union immersed herself in her studies at UCLA and underwent therapy for a long time in order to overcome the trauma of the rape and severe post-traumatic stress. She joined a rape survivor's group in campus, which helped in overcoming her habit of judging people and made her realize that one never knows the sufferings of the other person. She volunteered at a crisis center and helped people who were raped to overcome their trauma.
