Politics in the UK is more issue-oriented than in the US, largely because spending is regulated and the campaign season is limited by law to under four weeks. The campaign for Bath's parliamentary seat between incumbent Chris Patten and successful Liberal Democrat challenger Don Foster is described.

British Airways' frequent-flier plan
