A proposed research emphasis to overcome the limits of wildlife-habitat relationship studies

Article Abstract:

The author emphasizes the importance of identifying and analyzing critical resources to improve the accuracy and usability of wildlife management research. He argues that studying habitat constraints alone is insufficient for producing reliable data on how animal populations respond to various environmental changes.

Conspecific attraction is a missing component in wildlife habitat modeling

Article Abstract:

Wildlife biologists have the wildlife-habitat relationships to create habitat models to predict species occurrence across a landscape. Wildlife biologists should incorporate a parameter in habitat models for the clustered distribution of individuals within the habitat and examine the mechanisms leading to clustered distributions of species, especially conspecific attraction.
