A 'smart' catalyst that self-assembles under turnover conditions

Article Abstract:

The multicomponent polyanion cluster alpha-((CO-II)PW 11O39) is capable of self assembling from four different precursor compounds having 28 molecules. The self assembling process is accompanied by the catalysis of the epoxidation of alkenes. This peculiar property of the multicomponent polyanion cluster enables its usage in integrated circuit elements and in place of other synthetic materials for different applications.

On the trail of dioxygen activation

Article Abstract:

The work of Neumann and Dahan has made progress towards realizing an ideal homogeneous catalyst for dioxygen oxidations. An ideal catalyst system for the reductive activation of dioxygen would require the electron equivalents to come from the target substrate. The ideal catalyst should also be stable, and the instability problem has been resolved using polyomometalates derivatives.

Equilibrating metal-oxide cluster ensembles for oxidation reactions using oxygen in water

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the effect of a thermodynamically controlled self-assembly of a heteropolytungstate anion and an ensemble of polyoxometalates which have been equilibrated on pH and water stability.
