A strategic taxonomy of biological communication

Article Abstract:

A study on taxonomy of biological communication and signals based upon the structure and the properties of extensive-form game models of communication was performed. The study revealed that taxonomy and extensive show how the temporal structure of a modeled interactions determines the type of signal the model produced.

Testing the receiver bias hypothesis empirically with 'virtual evolution'

Article Abstract:

A virtual evolution is tested on the potentiality of receiver bias to drive the evolution of exaggerated signals. The findings supported the hypothesis that response biases emerged in discrimination tasks sufficient to cause evolution of signal exaggeration.

Receiver bias for colorful signals

Article Abstract:

The possibility that response biases through signaling that arises in an animal and bird's recognition mechanisms is experimentally explored. The computer simulation of color evolution in arms races between signals and receivers of birds is studied.
