A systematic test of an enterprise strategy for community-based biodiversity conservation

Article Abstract:

The implementation of one or more community-based enterprises such as setting up an ecotourism lodge, distilling essential oils from wild plant roots, producing jams and jellies from forest fruits, harvesting timber, or collecting marine samples to test for pharmaceutical compounds which was collected to test the network's hypothesis is discussed. The results show that a community-based enterprise strategy can lead to conservation, but only under limited conditions.

Science and management in a conservation crisis: a case study with Rhinoceros

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the ways and means of preempting conservation measures by the appropriate science and management techniques. The author draws ideas from his work on rhinoceros, whose protection and preservation reached a conservation crisis point. Research suggests that abandoning the applied and basic research dualism, avoiding unwanted research, and prioritizing ecological research will lead to preventing conservation crisis.

Benzoin gardens in North Sumatra, Indonesia: effects of management on tree diversity

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on tropical forest conservation. Results demonstrate that benzoin garden management in North Sumatra represents a low-intensity disterbance and maintains ecological structure which allows to accumulate forest species for a long time.
