Aggression in females is also lateralized: Left-eye bias during aggressive courtship rejection in lizards

Data consistent with a left-eye preference for aggressive rejection display in females of the stripped plateau lizard, Sceloporus virgatus, is presented. In a large majority of trials, females responded to males, and almost all responding females displayed aggressively.

Sexual selection and variation: A multivariate approach to species-specific calls and preferences

Article Abstract:

Geographical variation in a signal-receiver system within and between the two species of field crickets Gryllus texensis and G. rubens is examined. It is found that none of the three-univariate male calling song parameters could separate species in allopatry.
