Amersham has extended its range of FMP miniprep systems

Article Abstract:

Amersham Corp has introduced its new FMP for plasmid minipreps as part of its line of FMP miniprep systems. The FMP system is based on fast magnetic purification, a technique which entraps and separates precipitates using magnetic instead of centrifugal force. Magnetic particles act as solid nuclei around which precipitates can aggregate, and subsequent application of a magnetic field causes the magnetic particles drag the precipitates to the magnet poles. Multiple samples of plasmid DNA from small-scale bacterial cultures may be processed using the FMP system.

Sigma Electrophoresis is offering a complete line of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis products

Article Abstract:

Sigma Electrophoresis is offering a complete line of 2-dimensional (2-D) gel electrophoresis products. These include molecular weight markers, reagents and equipment. The markers' features include an easily observable diagonal line across the 2-D gel, while the carbamylated markers display some 20 spots on a line which is parallel to the isoelectric focusing axis on isoelectric focusing urea or 2-D gels.

Boehringer Mannheim has recently introduced an RNase protection kit

Article Abstract:

Boehringer Mannheim has introduced its RNase protection kit. The kit can be used to map genetic transcription start and termination sites, quantify specific RNA sequences and determine the intron-exon structure of genes. The product has high sensitivity and specificity and is compatible with radioactively labelled or digoxigenin-labelled SP6 or T7 probes.
