Integrated Separation Systems has introduced a new line of prepackaged gel filtration columns

Integrated Separation Systems introduced its new line of prepacked gel filtration columns capable of purifying or desalting samples with volumes of up to 0.5 ml. Each column is autoclaved and equilibrated in DNase and RNase-free water. Porous polyethylene frits protect the top and bottom of the bed to protect the gel during storage. The company announced that it only takes two to four minutes to process DNA or Protein samples using the gel filtration columns.

Millipore has announced a new high-resolution approach to separate proteins

Millipore Corp Waters Chromatography Div has released its Waters Quanta 4000E Capillary Electrophoresis System and Membrane Fraction Collector to help researchers separate proteins from very small amounts of sample. Proteins collected on the Membrane Fraction Collector may be analyzed directly with western, northern and Southern blots, as well as analyzed for amino acid sequence.
