Association between wildlife and agriculture: Underlying mechanisms and implications in burrowing owls

Article Abstract:

The availability of suitable nest burrows, abundance of potential prey and predation of nest burrows were examined for owls nesting in the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area in southwestern Idaho during 2001-2002. It was found that burrowing owls nest near irrigated agriculture due to increased diversity of availability of prey.

Securing alternative funding for wildlife management: insights from agency leaders

Article Abstract:

A frame work to understand state wildlife agencies' response to pressures to secure alternative funding mechanisms is presented.
