Atomic gas in flatland

Article Abstract:

Atomic gases are useful as their ingredients are familiar, they interact through well defined two-body collations and the trapping potentials confining the gas are known. Bose-Einstein condensation in an atomic gas is an example that is observed in an ultra cold gas of rubidium atoms.

Strong atom-field coupling for Bose-Einstein condensates in an optical cavity on a chip

Article Abstract:

A fibre-based cavity with atom-chip technology which could be used to study and measure the heat for strongly coupled Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) is described.
