Attachment to humans: A comparative study on hand-reared wolves and differently socialized dog puppies

Article Abstract:

The attachment behaviour of extensively socialized (hand reared) dog, Canis familiaris and wolf, Canis lupus can be compared as puppies towards their human caregiver with that of pet dog puppies of the same age. It is conducted to find out whether dog puppies as young as 16 weeks show attachment to a human caregiver, extensive socialization by human caregivers affects attachment behaviour of dog puppies and evolutionary changes affect the emergence of dog human attachment.

Interaction between individual experience and social learning in dogs

Article Abstract:

Two experiments using detour tests were conducted to investigate the interaction between individual experience and social learning in domestic dogs, Canis familiaris. The results revealed that dogs could use information gained by observing a human demonstrator to overcome their own mistakenly preferred solution in a problem situation.

Social learning in dogs: the effect of a human demonstrator on the performance of dogs in a detour task

Article Abstract:

Dogs are tested for their ability to learn from human actions by placing a treat or toy on either the inside, or outside of a v-shaped piece of fence. By following a human's actions, most of the dogs could get to the object faster than they could alone.
